After a long break, music festival season is coming back and many big-name musicians will be performing at festivals and venues around Virginia during the month of May. From major country acts to the biggest names in rock and pop, catch your favorite artists and discover new ones all over the Commonwealth.

VIRGINIA MUSIC FESTIVALS
April 28-May 1, the Virginia Arts Festival presents the Virginia International Tattoo, which pays tribute to the United States Military. Presented in the grand tradition of the world’s oldest tattoos, this Tattoo is an all-American show of patriotism and pride – one international sensation.
Richmond’s outdoor sports and music festival Dominion Riverrock will brings thousands to the riverside Brown’s Island on May 20-22 with live music performances from Suggesting Rhythm, Dead Billionaires, E 33rd, Devil’s Coattails, Delvin Lamarr Organ Trio, Sierra Ferrell, Futurebirds, Tre. Charles, Mekong Xpress and Leon III.
Dr. Ralph Stanley’s Hills of Home Music Festival is located in the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia at Dr. Ralph Stanley’s “home place” in McClure. The three day festival, taking place May 25-28, is a great opportunity to see traditional bluegrass bands.
The Rooster Walk Music & Arts Festival will feature nearly 50 bands just outside of Martinsville May 26-29. The lineup includes Grace Potter, Moon Taxi, Little Feat, Lettuce, Big Something, The War and Treaty, Tab Benoit, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Sammy Rae & The Friends, Fruition, Brandon ‘Taz’ Niederauer, The Nude Party, Yarn, and many more.
The Patriotic Festival celebrates the military at the Scope Arena in Norfolk May 27-29 and features country music performances from Jon Pardi, Kane Brown, and Morgan Wallen.
